Deaf & Hard of Hearing Camp is a one week session specifically designed for youth with hearing impairments that, in school, are learning to use spoken language and discriminate sounds. The week at camp supports their schooling by giving opportunities for youth to practice and explore their communication skills in a supportive and energizing environment. The teaching and practicing of language skills is woven into a typical camp program with a focus on drama and journal writing. Deaf & Hard of Hearing Family Camp is a weekend camp for Families with Hearing Impaired children. This program includes activities for parents, campers and the families as a unit. Visually Impaired/Blind Camp is a one week session for youth with visual impairments. The traditional camp program focuses on having fun, developing self concepts and relationships, learning independence with life skills and acquiring new outdoor skills. Staff guide and support the camper in their efforts to reach their full potential as human beings. During training, the staff are given the tools and knowledge to make a difference in the lives of the special campers, and their efforts are supported by qualified, experienced leaders.
